Better Speech & Swallow is a Speech Language Pathology practice, servicing the Frederick, and Washington counties of Maryland. Better Speech & Swallow also services North Carolina, to include New Hanover and Pender county. Beginning in 2017 we also began providing services Online across the state of Maryland and North Carolina so we may meet the needs of more people. We provide speech, language, cognitive, voice and swallowing (Dysphagia) evaluations and treatments to children and adults in their homes, senior living communities and assisted living facilities in the area. VitalStim Therapy
Better Speech & Swallow has therapists certified in VitalStim® therapy for swallowing disorders, a breakthrough therapeutic, non-invasive, proven intervention for the treatment of Dysphagia.
Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT LOUD)
LSVT LOUD is a highly effective intensive speech therapy program designed for Parkinson’s patients. LSVT LOUD is designed to improve speech and voice function patients with other neurological disorders may also be a candidates. eLOUD therapists are now being offered to provide voice treatment over the internet in both MD and NC.
Pediatric Services
Our team will be providing one on one care to pediatric clients (birth-adolescence) in their homes in Frederick county. Please call with questions and to schedule an appointment.
Speech-Language Evaluation and Treatment
Once an evaluation is completed to determine the degree of impairment, the therapist will collaborate with the patient and family members to establish goals that will assist the patient in functioning at their highest level of communication.
Dysphagia Evaluation and Treatment
We provide a comprehensive swallowing evaluation for each patient. Our primary goal is to improve swallowing ability so that the patient may tolerate the least restrictive diet safely.
Rehab Consulting Services
Better Speech and Swallow provides consulting services to hospitals and senior living facilities for staff in-servicing and therapy program development.
